In this edition of Great Beards Throughout History, we honor to Ernest Hemingway - Nobel Laureate, Avid Sportsman, World Traveler, Master Beardsman.
Though not bearded until the later part of his life, you must agree that this guy wore it well. That is one handsome dude!
Most everyone knows that Hemingway was a great writer, winning the Nobel Prize for literature in the 1950's. Lesser known is that he was an avid sportsman.
In fact, Hemingway survived two successive plane crashes while on African Safari in the 1950's. Talk about a Beast!
He is noted for multiple famous quotes, but our personal favorite goes as follows:
"There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self."
